Frequently Asked Questions

What is a broker vs. carrier?

A carrier typically operates trucks and may often be an owner-operator who arranges shipments solely through a broker, focusing on specific routes. Conversely, a broker boasts an extensive network of car carriers covering the entire country. Due to their wide reach, brokers can often offer lower rates as they have multiple carriers vying to transport your vehicle. Additionally, brokers rigorously verify the USDOT authority, federal licenses, and cargo insurance of carrier companies, ensuring your vehicle’s transportation is in safe hands. Leveraging their industry expertise, brokers guarantee that your car is entrusted to a reputable carrier, a task that can be challenging to undertake independently.

Why does my SUV cost more to ship than my Sedan?

The pricing is calculated according to weight and size since these factors dictate the maximum load legally permissible for carriers. Consequently, larger and heavier vehicles may incur a slight price adjustment.

If I ship multiple vehicles Is there a discount in doing so?

Certainly! The discount amount will be determined by various factors. All vehicles must share the same truck from pick-up to delivery to qualify. Feel free to reach out to one of our car transport specialists at 123-456-7891 to discuss the multi-vehicle discount further.

When should I book my transport?

We recommend arranging your shipment 2 to 3 weeks in advance to ensure we can meet your scheduling needs. For those requiring last-minute shipping, we do offer expedited options. Feel free to reach out to our car transport specialists at 224-218-2949 to discuss expedited shipping arrangements.

Can I get a refund?

The deposit is entirely refundable if canceled before a driver is scheduled. Once a driver is scheduled, the deposit becomes nonrefundable, as we compensate the trucker for reserving the spot on their truck. Customers will receive confirmation of pickup and delivery dates, along with driver information before the order is dispatched.

Does my vehicle need to be insured in order to ship?

No, all you require are the keys and the vehicle. Attempting to ship a vehicle that you do not own with the intention of theft is illegal, and law enforcement would promptly address such cases. With over 100,000 vehicles shipped, we have never encountered any incidents involving auto transport being used as a method of vehicle theft.

What is a bill of landing?

The document serves as a comprehensive record utilized by car transport companies to document any pre-existing damages present on the vehicle upon pickup. Additionally, it includes the official agreement for transport along with your contact information. It’s essential to retain the bill of lading if you intend to file an insurance claim related to your shipment.

How to make a payment?

Payment methods are straightforward. We accept all major credit cards, money orders, electronic transfers, as well as bank/certified checks for both deposits and full pre-payments of your transport. Any remaining balance at the time of delivery can be settled directly with the Driver using cash, money order, or bank/certified check.

Do I have to pay the driver if I'm not satisfied with my experience?

How should I prep my vehicle for transport?

Ensure the vehicle’s exterior is clean to facilitate a thorough inspection by the trucker for any existing scratches or dings. Remove all personal belongings and detach any loose parts or non-permanent accessories such as luggage racks, bike, or ski racks from the body.
